I have a background in nursing and began working at RFM as a scientific assistant in 2024, after obtaining my master’s degree. In my PhD project, I focus on family support and involvement in forensic mental healthcare settings.
The aim of this project is threefold, focusing on generating knowledge about:
(1) Existing interventions that seek to provide support to and involve family members in care and treatment in FMHS, (2) forensic mental health SUs’ experiences of involvement of their family members with regard to the identified interventions and (3) family members’ attitudes towards these interventions.
The project consist of three studies:
1.Integrative review identifying interventions to support and involve family members in forensic mental healthcare.
2. Qualitative semi-structured individual interviews with adult service users within the adult forensic mental healthcare settings, exploring their perceptions and whishes regarding family engagement.
3. National survey including adult family members in forensic mental healthcare, exploring their attitudes towards the identified interventions.
